In addition to the more common PVC Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 fittings, PVC Fitings Direct carries PVC Insert Fittings. Insert fittings are made of the same substances as Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 PVC fittings and provide a similar service, just in a slightly different way. Insert Fittings are used to connect to PVC flexible pipe, "Funny” pipe, or rubber hose, but instead of simply using a slip or threaded fitting to slide or thread onto a pipe, one "inserts" the barbed or insert tip into the pipe itself and secures it with a Hose Clamp. When properly clamped, the insert tips will create a seal within the pipe that makes them air and water tight. There are numerous types of insert fittings, including all the standard types such as: couplings, male and female adapters, 90 degree elbows, and tees. Insert fittings are also available with one side insert fitting, and one side threaded or slip just like a regular PVC fittings.
